Denver International Airport Concourse Expansion

Denver International Airport (DEN) is expanding each of its three concourses to increase gate capacity. As a subconsultant to the Jacobs team, EES provided drainage and stormwater quality design on the eastern Concourse B and C project, as well as on-going support in construction administration. To keep each concourse open and operational, the design and construction had a dictated phased approach; EES has participated in several design iterations at these milestone phases as result. EES also designed the relocation of a Denver Water main along the Concourse B expansion. EES is also involved in design and construction administrative work for the DEN CEP B East & C East expansion projects. Final approval has been granted for all design packages including enabling, foundations, and building connections. At the current stage of construction, when design changes occur, EES is in charge of monitoring and ensuring the changes have been reviewed and accepted by the authority having jurisdiction. This includes (but is not limited to) City & County of Denver SUDP, SSPR and EC permits along with Denver Water design modifications. EES has acted as the liaison between the design team, City & County of Denver and the PMT (owner’s rep). This includes coordination among multiple firms on the design team. EES’s involvement starts with the design directive and ends with approval of any required permits.
